About the Role

DoorDash is looking for an entrepreneurial leader to build out one of our next billion dollar businesses. We're looking for a Director to build and manage a newly formed

retail marketplace vertical focused on Pets, HomeGoods, Beauty, and more. As the director of retail strategy and operations, you will think strategically at the highest level while simultaneously managing and executing the day-to-day actions necessary to achieve our ambitious goals.

You have experience leading teams and businesses, blending analytics and creativity to scope and solve complex problems.

Youre excited about this opportunity because you will

• Build & Own - Finding product market fit & creating a new business from the ground up requires a leader who will roll up their sleeves when they need to but can also create a strategy and vision for the future.

• Operate at the Lowest Level of Detail - Diving into the data, talking to customers, and obsessing over the details to make sure we delight every customer and create value for every merchant.

• Lead & Advocate - The success of this business will depends on how capable the leader is. They must be able to advocate for their business, lead their cross-functional team to success, and deliver quality results to the customer.

• Experiment - There is not a written rule-book to success here. This leader must figure out how to get from A to B and constantly push to improve and test new opportunities to get 1% better everyday.

• Win - Building a world-class marketplace business will not be easy. This person must be comfortable with the ambiguity & embrace the challenge of having multiple paths forward and no right answer.

• You enjoy solving problems and can translate high-level goals into executional plans
• You have an ability to build partnerships at all levels across a variety of responsibilities to achieve common goals
• You are comfortable operating at both the 10,000 foot level and at the 10 inch level
• You're always looking for opportunities to better your work product and lead the outcome both the good and the bad
• You have 10+ years of top tier Consulting, VC, tech, retail or related experience; high-growth or early-stage startup experience is a bonus
• You have experience leading projects, hitting goals, and succeeding in a team environment
• You have Excel experience (can perform complex functions and modeling) and basic SQL knowledge (or a willingness to learn it)
